Benighted exists since 1998 and was at the beginning the gathering of different metal bands members. In 12 years of death/grindcore existence 5 albums were released and the band got a very good reputation in particular for his live performances. After 3 years for the « Icon » album promotion on Osmose Productions
with European tours and festivals like Summer Breeze, Rock Area, Was Soll Death Fest (Germany), Neurotic Death Fest (Netherlands), Obscene Extreme Fest (Czech Republic), Metal Fest Open Air , Rock The Lake (Austria), Inferno Fest (Norway), Hell Fest, Chaulnes Metal Fest,(France), GDL Fest (Portugal)…

Benighted is back to the Kohlekeller Studio to record its 6th and new album “Asylum Cave”. This album contains 12 new tracks of pure death/grind mixing brutality and groove, they are the most violent and fast the band never made, with some surprising and original stuff along them. The album’s concept is about the
story of a schizophrenic delusional man and each track deals with a part of his life and his delirium about Josef Fritzl which leads him to create an unreal world in the cave of his house and play himself all the roles of his empty life. The schizophrenic way of the band to play extreme metal fits perfectly with the general
concept.

“Asylum Cave” is available since March 2011 on Season of Mist. Benighted is back on tour with the Unleash The Hostile Tour for two weeks in France, plays also to some huge festivals like the Tel Aviv Death Fest (Israel), Neurotic Death Fest (Netherlands), Brutal Assault (Czech Republic), Summer Breeze and Way Of Darkness
(Germany) before starting a month tour as support for Morbid Angel in November 2011!
